#076: The Leap After 22 Years: How Kathleen Found Clarity & Left Teaching Behind

with Kathleen Long

Have you ever had the feeling or thought “I deserve better than this?” – if yes, then you’re not alone!

That’s exactly how former teacher, Kathleen Long, felt before making the leap out of the classroom.

After 22 years in the classroom, Kathleen knew she was ready for a change—but like so many veteran teachers, the idea of starting over felt overwhelming.

In this inspiring episode of Beyond the Classroom, Kathleen shares how she overcame fear, found clarity, and finally gave herself permission to take the leap.

With the help of a supportive career transition coaching program, she made her career transition a reality. She talks about how this program supported her, helped her with her resume, networking, and ultimately lead her to the path she’s on today.

We’ll also talk about her first steps in new life beyond the classroom where she’s been working as an ADHD life coach. She’s launched her own coaching practice focused on emotional intelligence and ADHD life coaching, and she’s building a life she loves.

Her story is a powerful reminder that:

It’s never too late to reinvent yourself

Clarity comes from taking action (not just thinking about it)

The right support can make all the difference

Whether you’re still in the classroom or already exploring new paths, this episode will leave you motivated, grounded, and full of possibility.
