Facebook Group Community Manager

Facebook Group Community Manager

(Part-Time | Remote | Contractor / $17-$20 per hour)

Teacher Career Transition Academy (TCTA) helps educators explore new career paths beyond the classroom through coaching, training, and free live events.

One of our brands, Life After Teaching, is home to a 235,000+ member Facebook community—one of the largest groups of career-transitioning teachers in the U.S.

We’re hiring a part-time Facebook Group Community Manager to help keep the group clean, supportive, and well-managed—and to guide members toward the most relevant free live webinars and career resources from the Teacher Career Transition Academy.

This is an entry-level role with training, templates, and clear guidelines provided.

This role exists because teachers post every day asking, “Where do I start?” “What jobs should I look at?” “How do I fix my resume?”

We want those members to get real support—not generic comments.

Your job is to keep the community safe and organized, respond in a helpful coaching-style voice, and guide members to the free resources available to them through the group.

🎯 What You’ll Do...

 1) Daily Moderation & Group Clean-Up

You’ll help maintain a high-quality community experience by:

• approving/declining posts based on group rules and standards

• removing spam, promotions, and rule-breaking content

• keeping the group feed clean, safe, and organized

2) Comment Engagement in High-Intent Threads (guided + supported)

• Scan daily posts and jump into threads where members are asking for help (burnout, “where do I start?”, resumes, LinkedIn, interviews, job search struggles).

• Reply in a warm, coaching-style voice using our templates as guidance, and directing them to upcoming free coaching calls to get more support

3) Webinar/Workshop Invitations (primary outcome)

A key part of the role is helping our group members find our FREE coaching events and webinars. To do this you will:

• share approved links to upcoming webinars/workshops inside relevant comment threads

• respond to basic follow-up questions after sharing a link

• support comment-based prompts during promotions (ex: “Comment PLAN and I’ll send the link”)

What We’re Looking For

Required:

• strong writing skills (clear, warm, professional)

• ability to follow rules and enforce boundaries calmly

• consistency and reliability (this role needs steady coverage)

• comfortable learning a brand voice and using templates

Preferred:

• current or former teacher (or strong understanding of teacher burnout and career transition)

• interest in marketing/community work as a career path

• experience participating in online communities (admin/mod helpful, not required)

No experience required — we will train you.

We provide:

• moderation checklist + rules

• response templates for common post types

• approved webinar invite language

• examples of “good replies” vs. “too salesy”

Success Looks Like (First 30–60 Days)

• the group stays clean and well-moderated with low spam

• members receive timely, helpful replies in high-intent threads

• webinar links are shared consistently and appropriately

• we see a steady flow of registrations coming from group engagement

Who This Role Is Perfect For

This role is especially ideal for a current teacher who wants to:

• build real, relevant experience for a future career in marketing, community, or customer engagement

• do remote work on the side while still teaching

• learn how communities grow, how engagement works, and how to connect people to valuable free events

Important note about pay/value: We fully believe teachers are worth far more in full-time, salaried roles outside the classroom. This role is not meant to reflect a teacher’s full market value—it’s a limited-hour, entry-level, part-time support position designed for someone who wants experience and a resume-building opportunity while keeping their teaching job. Our pay for this role is based on requirements of the job and pay for this type of role in our local market.

Pay: $17-20/hour

Location: Remote

Hours: ~ 2 hours a day, | 7 days a week | evenings and weekend | 14 hours per week

Role Type: 1099 Contract
